Here is a clip from my first (and only, to this point) contemporary piano sonata, written while studying with Dr. John Downey at UW-Milwaukee. The piece taps an assertive energy, spinning out dissonant cells, interspersed with a syncopated silence from which the music creeps, and explodes.
